NZTA installation of cycleway along SH2 from Ngauranga gorge to
Petone. HTS Group supplied control equipment for for this cycle
safety project sub-contracted from NZTA Hybrid Contractor Fulton Hogan.
At Ngauranga traffic signals there are cycle loops for cyclist to call
appropriate phases as well as the existing cycle push button.
A new cycle rail/pushbutton pole and LED cycle sign are located on the
north island of the intersection
Another cycle rail/pushbutton pole and LED sign system is also located
at Petone off ramp.
The LED warning Cycle signs are turned on either by the pushbutton
or via marked cycle detector loop on the road. The LED signs will
remain on for 30 seconds at Ngauranga and 2 minutes and 30
seconds
at SH2/Petone Off Ramp.
